There are many reasons to learn about cars. Cars are one of the most popular modes of transportation in the world, and they're only becoming more ubiquitous. The average American spends up to eight hours per day driving. And with gas prices on the rise, cars are increasingly being blamed for America's economic woes. Beyond that, cars have become a major player in our cultural landscape. Television, music videos, and now social media all celebrate how awesome it would be if you had a car like theirs... and that car is always the same: a nice, shiny car that appeals to the base emotions of pride and jealousy. What's this got to do with anime? A lot, as it turns out. You'd be hard-pressed to find an anime fan who doesn't have a thing for cars. From the classic racing anime like Initial D and Kaitou Reinya, to sci-fi classics such as Cowboy Bebop and Outlaw Star, cars are one of our favorite characters. So, let's take a minute to look at some of the most famous cars in anime. After all, these are the stars of the show. Legend has it that Dr. Noboyata invented the first car on October 10th, 1968. The first generation of MSX-7801 cars were called the Z93RS while the second generation were called the Z93RSPlus. The third generation introduced a drastic change in design and consequently a separate chassis, but still retained the main body shell, thus creating a new type of robot named "MSX-3000".
